Country French. Upscale restaurant located just north of Main Street at the east end of Water Mill's shopping district. You can't miss it; it's the one shaped like an old dining car. Wait a minute... it IS an old dining car. An old dining car which serves traditional French country cooking, and not badly either. Next to the dining car is a second dining room in a real building. The dining car is only open on weekends and for special parties, so save this one for the weekend, and get the full effect. Service is efficient and friendly, portions adequate. Have cocktails on the porch and come into the warmly appointed dining room for dinner. Call ahead, as the restaurant is small, and there may well be a wait when you arrive. Casual dress; full liquor license.
