Italian. Small family-style Italian restaurant located on the north side of Montauk Highway, just east of Amagansett Square. If you like spicy, try their fra diavolo sauce. Astro's Pizza is now located inside the restaurant, which effectively downgrades both the decor and the food quality considerably. Open 5:00pm to 10:30pm 7 days a week (closed Tuesdays during the winter). AE, MC, V. Entree price range: $9.95 to $18.95. Reservations recommended; full liquor license.

Seafood; Lobsters. This is not a restaurant, BUT... it IS an experience in dining. This lobster farm / seafood market / zoo / time machine is always considered a major discovery by tourists who first learn about it. Drive up to this old rusted sheet metal barn (used to be a fertilizer plant; look up "menhaden"), past the huge lobster tanks, and stop at the retail store to place your order. Lobsters are at their most reasonable price here. Take your order home (lobsters may be taken live, with the bad parts removed, or fully cooked), or much better, head over to one of the picnic tables located next to the water's edge, and someone will serve you your order there. The small group of tables is surrounded by a low picket fence, to protect you from the attack geese which regularly patrol the grounds (safe if you don't stick your finger in their beaks). Best of all, the view of the bay is terrific, especially at sunset. Great steamers. Wonderful fun.
